2 newly-made wooden handguards for a Garand. Getting them to fit is another thing entirely..... :?

A Zeiss Super Ikonta 530/16 (though I'm pretty sure it's a 532/16)

Both types were bought in large quantities through Turkey by the British Army to supply the APFU photographers.

From my local car-boot this morning:

WW2 related:
Brit rubberised groundsheet - £2.00
SMLE sling (showing remnants of "sand-coloured" blanco) - £1.00
Mk3 'Turtle' helmet painted up for NHSR use. 'NHSR' sign written (you can still see the pencil guide lines!) on the front and back in black over a creamy white shell colour. Name painted on the inside - £5.00

There was a very moth-eaten 49patt BD blouse for £10 with two nice metal lapel badges (I think Ox+Bucks LI, but can't be sure), which I didn't buy (If I did it would have only been for the badges anyway).

Non-WW2 related:
Brand new No.2 Dress uniform jacket belt - £0.20p
70's nylon version of '58patt belt ('72patt or something?) - £0.20p
A laminated wood paddle for my and me sisters coracle! - £6.00

Nice one... what colour was the groundsheet?

You should have had the blouse for spare bits of serge as well ... ;)

Hehe, yeah, was thinking of that, but I could see the sentimental look in the guy who was selling it's eyes. Think it was a relatives of his, and so didn't have the heart to buy it for 'spares'.  :slap:

Oh, and the groundsheet is a postwar/'50s green 'un - I'm not that lucky
